Watch OUT . . . . .

I have a new concept for all of you who love to make your home decor!

Design Your Own Layered Elements

For years, I have been designing patterns that took all of the guessing and experimentation
out of the process of making something that was uniquely yours!

I realize that I am still providing elements, but what you do
with them is now entirely up to you!
The colors you use, the layers you use, the embellishments you use,the layout you use.

Do I offer layout ideas? Yes, but only a few such as: Coasters, Ornaments, Penny Rugs, Table Runners, Twirlies, and these are only to get you started.

I do not suggest color, but I do give you some techniques to help you
figure out color variations.
You also receive an Embroidery and Color Idea page to help you
with designing your layered element.

Most of the Design Your Own Layered Elements Collections will
be compatible with each other, although there will be some elements in a
collection that don’t quite fit in another collection.
But, it’s still fun to have all of them!

I have many more Design Your Own Layered Elements Collections, coming!!!!

Leaves, leaves and more . . . LEAVES

Yes! I absolutely love leaves and these are no exception!

I knew I was in trouble when Gary and I decided to make these ~ I want them all!!!

The wonderful thing about these leaves is I can use them
everywhere in my house, outside too, if I choose!

I have one hanging from my ceiling light/fan in
my dining room and on a cabinet door knob.

I think the best is on my sliding glass door ~ every time I open the
door, the leaves sway! What fun is that!

Please, take a look at our ETSY Store!
And thanks!

Have a wonderful day!

Busy Summer . . .

Well, like so many people our summer has been very busy,
but we've enjoyed every minute!

Once it cooled down enough to get out into the wood studio,
Gary started scrolling up a storm!

Gary has a wonderful eye for choosing just the right wood and grain
for his projects. The projects this time have been
Oak and Maple Leaves that I designed.
Each piece is sanded, scrolled, then sanded again and buffed.

We have used these leaves as "confetti" on our table as a decoration, we have
resin on the top of some, but with collection of leaves, we have made
beautiful Wearable Art! Each leaf has a jewelry pin glued to the back.

They look fabulous on scarves, sweaters and jackets, but they are
equally wonderful on jacket lapels, and on ties as a tie tac!
Great as boutonnieres for fall weddings too.
I have mine on my backpack.

So, what have we been doing? Well, in addition to being a support system to our kids by watching our grandchildren . . . We've Been Creating!!!!!

We have been designing and making mugs and tiles as well as so many other creations.

And we have added so many great stencils to use as a tool to have fun with your drawing and painting . . .

So, I can't promise a thing, but I do hope to start posting here again. Meanwhile, stop in and check out all of our items at our Pinetree Studios ETSY Store!

It's January 15th ALREADY????

Oh WOW! I can not believe how time flies!!!!

It is a NEW year AND I am totally ready for what this year is going to bring . . .
AND I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

So, what have I been doing.

Well, for one thing, I have finally finished my studio and getting it set up. I am really proud of the way it has turned out too. Trying to organize all of my fabric and yarns has been an existing problem for me and then it finally occurred to me how to do it!

First off, I guess I should tell you what it is that I do here . . .
I am a designer, weaver, artist (pen & ink and graphic).
Looking around here on our blog should give you an idea.

I looked and looked all over Pinterest (and other places too) and could not find anything that suited my particular problem of storage. I am happy to post pictures here and share my solution, hoping that this will help someone else with their storage challenge too.

This picture shows 21 ~ 4 Wire Basket Units from Ikea.
Yup, that is 84 wire baskets!!!!!

I won't bore you with how many trips I actually made to the store to get my
studio organized, but it was a lot!

I have stored my::
fabric ~ woolfelt, wool, cotton, flannel, batik, handwoven fabric
yarn ~ wool, wool blend, cotton, twine, novelty, ribbon, roving
finished items, work in progress and my items for sale.

Each basket has a label and is lined with paper so everything stays in the basket.
Boy, am I happy!

Next . . .
I love this view!

Again, from Ikea ~ the desk and legs along with two drawer units that also store files ~ a must!
I have most of my pens, markers and watercolors in this area too. My computer too.

Then . . .
My cutting center. Again Ikea. Table and legs. Two files drawers that can best be described
as units that could store maps.
I have my weaving tools, embroidery threads and tools, rulers & templates, fringers,
yo-yo makers, knitting and crocheting tools, etc. in these drawers.
Up on this peg board (there is another that stores my cutting tools) I have some of my pin looms,
weaving yarn spools, project bags (so I can grab and go).

Lastly (not really)  . . .
My library and embellishment center!

2 of my five rigid heddle looms.
Button, beads, charms, wire, tools, more pens, dies, etc.
I love this center!!!!!!

So, this is what I have been working on to get ready for this new year.
I am excited to work in this fabulous studio!

Please come back often to see what I am making . . .
my husband and I actually have more in store, but that is another post!!

Have a GREAT day!
